Sutton Forest Cluster

#1 reason to visit… Sutton Forest Cluster

Cool climate wines are the lifeblood of Sutton Forest Food and Wine Cluster with cellar doors, olive groves, berry farms and homestead stays to be explored.

Bordered by two rivers, the tiny township has been likened to ‘an English village in miniature’ and was among the first settlements of the new lands beyond the colony of Sydney back in the 1820’s.

Sutton Forest has been a popular travellers stop for more than 150 years with many of its historic manor homes and estates now converted to guesthouses and hotels – an ideal base for exploring the Southern Highlands Food and Wine Clusters.

MEDWAY FARM BEEF

Conventionally, cattle are forced into feedlots for rapid fattening on a grain-based, hormone enhanced diet but at Medway Farm cattle are grass fed and finished in free and open pastures. An ethical approach to stock handling coupled with a commitment to avoiding chemicals where possible means happier cattle and a healthier end product. Passionate about preserving the land and biodiversity for future generations, The Galbraith family have free-ranged grass-fed beef cattle at Sutton Forest since 1887.

Sold to order in bulk, fresh from the farm direct to customers in a variety of cuts, their beef has a superb flavor. And like all grass fed beef, it’s rich in Omega-3, antioxidant vitamins A and E and CLA trans fatty acids that improve brain function and reduce cancer risk.
