A little local knowledge unlocks some very special experiences…

Leave it to the locals of The Southern Highlands to entice you off the beaten path for an unforgettable experience of our fabulous food & wine clusters. Local foodie and 2015 Regional Business Leader of the Year Award winner Brigid Kennedy, from The Loch at Berrima, teamed up with Food Path Pioneer Jill Dyson to identify 9 different Southern Highlands Food & Wine Clusters to explore.

The Southern Highlands Food and Wine Clusters are an initiative of Moss Vale and Rural Chamber of Commerce, representing more than 100 regional growers and producers. Each cluster offers an authentic taste of the local lifestyle; sublime produce, historic ambience and gastronomic delights for which the region is renowned.

Joadja was the first of the Southern Highlands Food & Wine Clusters to be mapped with highlights including Tertini Wines, Bendooley Estate, Joadja Distillery, The Loch, Taste of Alpaca and McVitty Grove. Moss Vale, Robertson and Sutton Forest followed soon after.

So when you visit the highlands you can simply download the cluster map to start the adventure and shop like a local, eat where the locals eat, meet local growers and discover some of the Highlands more closely held secrets. Our local foodies have done the hard work for you – identifying the best accommodation, dining, shopping and must-do moments within each cluster using simple icons on the map.

With some of our most coveted producers represented alongside little known local gems, the hard part is knowing when to stop!

The benefit of local knowledge behind our self-drive Southern Highlands Food & Wine Cluster experiences takes the guess-work out of touring, so you can relax and enjoy the magnificent local landscape and linger longer at points of interest.
